Whole Future or Ozone - 2007

I had to do this one twice. The first time I attempted this piece it separated into two chunks through a thin, visible fault while finish oil-sanding, and the larger lower chunk became Not Whole—after all that chiseling it was a bit disappointing, but there was resolve to do it again.

This monolith was fashioned for our near time today from stone formed millions of years ago. It is based on oak and more steatite. It is 67” tall.
